What this means for buyers

The Free tier is a trial, not a free product. 400 credits is enough to generate roughly 6-10 decks before you have to upgrade. The Free plan does not refresh credits monthly — once they’re spent, they’re gone.

Annual billing is the headline price. The $10 Plus number Gamma quotes most prominently is the monthly rate; annual works out to $8/month but locks you in for 12 months. For Indian users, the Plus plan is effectively annual-only at ~₹4,800/year — there’s no monthly option on the IN pricing.

Credits add cognitive load. Every action has a price. Generating a deck costs roughly 40 credits, adding a chart costs 5-10, and AI rewrites cost 1-5. Most Plus users hit the credit ceiling well before the month ends if they iterate heavily.

Business is annual-only.The team plan has no monthly option at all. For an Indian SME testing the tool, that’s a minimum $1,800/year ($25 × 6 seats × 12 months) upfront commitment before you know if it works for your team.

№ FAQ

Gamma pricing, answered.

What does Gamma actually cost in 2026?
Gamma's public tiers as of 2026: Free (400 one-time credits, then capped), Plus ($10/month or $96/year), Pro ($20/month or $180/year), Business ($25/seat/month, annual billing only). In India, the Plus plan runs around ₹4,800/year — annual-only, no monthly option.
How does Gamma's credit system work?
Free users get 400 credits at signup — that's a fixed pool, not a monthly refresh. Each AI generation, image creation, and rewrite costs credits (typically 5-40 credits per action). Once you run out, you either upgrade or wait for the credits to come back on a paid plan. Paid plans get a much larger monthly allocation.
Is Gamma free forever?
The Free tier is permanent, but the 400 credits are one-time — they do not refresh. After you spend them, you can still view existing decks and use the editor, but generating new content requires Plus or higher.
Is Gamma cheaper than PowerPoint or Google Slides?
No. Google Slides is free with a Google account, PowerPoint is included in Microsoft 365 ($7/month) which most professionals already pay for. Gamma's pricing competes with other AI presentation tools, not with the traditional incumbents.
What's the cheapest Gamma alternative for Indian users?
Instant Deck AI Pro is ₹999 as a one-time payment for 30 days — no annual lock-in, no auto-renewal. Gamma's cheapest India option is the Plus plan at ~₹4,800/year, billed annually. Instant Deck AI works out to about 1/5th the upfront cost for the same feature set on the paid tier.
Does Gamma remove the watermark on Plus?
Yes — the "Made with Gamma" mark is removed starting on the Plus plan. On Instant Deck AI, the watermark is removed on Pro (₹999 / $18).
